"Hot Topics in Breastfeeding: Tools to Help Your Patients and Your Community"

The Breastfeeding Panel Discussion at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia was very well attended, with 53 live participants and an additional 46 teleconference participants.  Thanks to all of our speakers and participants, the evening was a great success!

The panel discussion was held October 9th, 2007 at the College of Physicians.  The topics included:   

1) Breaking Down Barriers: Breastfeeding Advocacy Tools for Pediatricians, keynote presentation

Diane L. Spatz, PhD, RNC, Associate Professor of Health Care of Women and Childbearing Nursing - Clinician Educator, and Helen M. Shearer Term Associate Professor of Nutrition at the University of Pennsylvania

2) Pennsylvania State Breastfeeding Epidemiology and State Initiatives

Martha Kautz, Program Coordinator, Pennsylvania Breastfeeding Awareness and Support Program, Bureau of Family Health, Pennsylvania Dept of Health

 3) Educating Physicians and Residents on Breastfeeding

 Lori Feldman-Winter, MD, Associate Professor of Pediatrics at UMDNJ-RWJMS
