 Active Members

 

            Qualifications

 

 1.   Active members must be graduates of an accredited medical or osteopathic school and in good standing in the medical profession.

2.   Candidates for active membership must have completed a three year Pediatric residency, be a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics or be board certified by an American Board in another medical/surgical specialty and their professional activities must be primarily related to the Pediatric age group.

3.   Active members in good standing are eligible to vote and hold office.

 

                 Membership

1.   Applications for membership shall be made in writing and  signed by two (2) Active Members of the Society in good standing and sent to the Secretary of the Society.

2.   The application shall include the full name of the applicant, mailing address, email address, date of birth, medical or  osteopathic school and date of graduation, internship, residencies, date of certification by the American Board of Pediatrics (if applicable) or its equivalent in another field of specialized interest.

3.   Applications shall be read at a meeting of the Board of Directors.  A favorable vote of a majority of the Board of Directors present is required for membership.

4.   Those candidates approved shall be notified by the Secretary.

5.   Any candidate not approved for membership shall be notified by the Secretary and has the right of appeal to a special ad hoc committee of the Philadelphia Pediatric Society members; not members of the Board of Directors.

 6.    All approved memberships shall be declared void unless payment of dues occurs within three (3) months of  notification, except under circumstances approved by  the Board of Directors.
